Health care seems like a shipwreck at times. Yet there are islands of hopefulness. Much of the territory is uncharted; yet there is potential for relief and direction. Our goal is to provide you with help to foster clinical quality care efforts. We will provide you with resources, tools and interesting information, and we will regularly interview traditional and untraditional medical leaders, both formal and informal: executives, opinion leaders, docs on the front lines, administrative partners, quality leaders, payers, consumers and others — for their ideas about clinical care quality. 01/01/2010: At Interview Central, Mark Greenawald MD of Virginia Tech Carilion, talks with us about the vital importance of leaders inviting feedback with suggestions on how to make this both comfortable and fruitful.

10/12/09: Pieter Cohen MD, Associate Program Director at Cambridge Health Alliance and Harvard Medical School Tutorial Course Director, who provided us with an interview, PRIMARY CARE PHYSICIANS AS EXPERTS AND HEALTH ADVOCATES, has published a perspective in the New England Journal of Medicine on contaminated dietary suppliments that is available online.

09/28/09: At Interview Central, Tim Young MD of St. John Health System and OMNI Medical Group in Tulsa Oklahoma talks with us about how patients deserve better than what they are getting. We've known Tim for many years and are big fans. Tim, and his medical director, Rob Gray, are strong believers in the benefits to patients of an evidence-based approach and have instituted some effective strategies over the years to advance evidence-based practice in their organization.
